The Role
The Director, Office and Administration (reporting to the COO) will oversee and optimize the firm's workplace and administrative operations, ensuring a professional, efficient, and high-performing environment. This leader will be responsible for all office and infrastructure decisions-ranging from long-term real estate planning and the build-out of new office space, to the daily employee experience across our San Francisco HQ, international office, and flexible spaces. The role also includes leadership and development of the EA Manager, as well as stewardship of the firm's knowledge base and key administrative systems. The ideal candidate is an experienced operational leader with a proven ability to create structure, streamline processes, and foster a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the firm's physical office environment, ensuring a polished, professional, and functional space.
- Provide direct leadership to the Workplace Manager, EA Manager, and overall office team
- Act as internal owner and strategic partner to the Construction Project Manager in the planning, design, and build-out of new office space-delivering projects on time, within budget, and aligned with firm needs.
- Oversee all office and infrastructure decisions, from long-term real estate planning to the daily employee experience across our San Francisco HQ, international office, and flexible spaces.
- Manage vendor relationships, office services, supplies, and facilities maintenance, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and security requirements.
- Lead office planning initiatives, including seating arrangements, design improvements, and space utilization strategies.
- Establish and refine best practices for supporting senior executives, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high-quality administrative support.
- Develop and implement administrative policies, systems, and workflows to increase operational efficiency, including standards for scheduling, travel, communications, and special projects.
- Partner with IT to plan and deliver firm-wide technology and systems initiatives, ensuring clear communication, smooth adoption, and strong end-user support.
- Manage administrative budgets and monitor spend across relevant categories.
- Support firm-wide initiatives that enhance workplace culture, team engagement, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in office management, administration, or operations, ideally within financial services, investment management, or the legal industry.Proven people leader with at least 6+ years managing and developing diverse, high-performing teams; known for coaching, motivating, and retaining top talent.Strong organizational skills with proven ability to streamline processes and implement best practices.Experience overseeing office relocation, build-out, and workplace infrastructure projects strongly preferred.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across executives and staff.Demonstrated ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution.High degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.Bachelors Degree requiredLocation

The annual base salary for this role is $280,000 taking into account numerous variable factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational requirements.This role is eligible to participate in the Turn / River carry program and a discretionary bonus program.Benefits and Perks
