As a Title Examination Assistant, you will play a crucial role in evaluating public records and titles to ascertain the legal status of property ownership. Your responsibilities will include the following :
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze and interpret chains of title and various records, including deeds, mortgages, liens, and easements, to validate ownership and understand legal constraints related to property.
- Summarize and copy recorded documents that impact property title, such as mortgages and contracts.
- Prepare title commitments by analyzing recorded documents and outlining required actions to ensure clear title.
- Calculate prices for commitments and policies using established fee schedules.
- Maintain organized files and respond promptly to customer inquiries, making necessary updates in line with underwriter guidelines.
- Conduct document reviews and perform necessary checks prior to approving original document recordings.
- Draft comprehensive write-ups for title insurance policies.
- Engage in business development efforts to nurture existing customer relationships and attract new clients.
- Provide supervision and guidance to title assistants and examiners when needed.
- Lead training sessions for team members and clients on title-related services and products.
Qualifications :
Proficiency in reading and analyzing complex documents, and responding to inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies.Strong mathematical skills including an understanding of probabilities, statistical inference, and practical applications of fractions and percentages.Adept at problem-solving, data collection, and drawing valid conclusions based on factual analysis.1-2+ years experience in public record searches and title examination.Familiarity with Ultima, word processing software, spreadsheets, and office equipment such as microfilm machines.Physical Requirements :
