[job_card.job_description]Manage projects and resources to develop new product lines that serve Cornell Pump’s strategic growth initiatives. Develop project proposals including market research, feasibility, cost estimates, and development plans, working closely with internal stakeholders. Design and analyze centrifugal pumps and integrated mechanical systems, including hydraulics, materials, motors, drivers, controls, and auxiliary components. Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and certification requirements; coordinate third-party testing as needed. Support sourcing and supplier development efforts by communicating technical requirements, timelines, and cost targets. Plan, execute, and analyze product testing, using performance data and trends to validate designs and drive improvements. Investigate field and warranty issues as needed, provide technical training, and support sales, manufacturing, and customers through troubleshooting, application guidance, and value engineering. Provide technical training and cross-functional support to sales and manufacturing. 3-8 years industry-related experience Detailed knowledge of mechanical function, design, and assembly of three-phase AC electric motors (required) Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and / or Electrical Engineering (required) Strong background in integrated Electrical / Mechanical assembly design Solidworks proficiency (equivalent 3D modeling software experience will be considered) Strong mechanical inclination (experience working with hand and power tools, and dealing with large and complex mechanical assemblies) Experience with specification, design, and operation of electrical motors and control systems (VFDs, motor starters, PLC logic, PID control, remote condition monitoring, etc.) Licensed Professional Engineer preferred PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred Solidworks training / certificates (CSWA, CSWP, etc.) preferred 10 paid holidays and PTO starting at two weeks per year 401K Plan – Up to 7.5% (3% employer contribution and up to another 4.5% employer matching) as based on your contribution thereafter : immediate full vesting Two medical plans : a PPO and an HDHP with an HSA Dental / Vision coverage Pet Insurance Company-paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Two weeks of paid Parental Leave Company-Paid Life Insurance & AD&D, Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability Additional Voluntary Life Insurance & AD&D Supplemental health insurance : hospital, accident, and critical illness insurance Safety Shoes : Get up to $250 reimbursed every two years Prescription Safety Glasses : Get up to $250 reimbursement every two years Employee Rewards and Recognition Program Coffee and healthy snacks are provided daily Free lunch with food truck Fridays throughout the Summer, a summer party for the family, holiday events, and Santa Day for the kids EEO / AA / M / F / Vet / Disability Oregon OSHA Rights Employee Polygraph Protection Act Family and Medical Leave Act https : / / www.cornellpump.com / privacy -policy /

Cornell Pump Company is a prominent leader in the centrifugal pump industry with over 75 years of experience and continuous growth. Our manufacturing facilities located in Clackamas, OR, Vancouver, WA, and Rock Hill, SC, allow us to serve diverse markets such as Agriculture, Industrial, Municipal, Rental, and Mining.
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer who possesses the ability to plan and design mechanical equipment. We are looking for an expert in the industry who can provide technical guidance to the Cornell team. You will have the opportunity to work with other talented Engineers, Sales, and a Manufacturing team of experts.
Location : On-site; Clackamas, OR
- Minimal travel required (less than 10%, typically quarterly)
- This is an on-site role based in Clackamas, OR. We are prioritizing local candidates; exceptional non-local applicants willing to relocate may be considered.
Annual Salary Range : $65,000 - $95,000 (DOE)
