Job Brief :

The Journeyman Electrician will provide on-site installation, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs for a customer’s electrical products and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Completes QA / QC redlines for as-built construction drawings.
  • Reads and interprets schematics and drawings related to electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications.
  • Repairs and adjusts system components (sensors, transmitters, programmable logic controllers, etc.); removes and replaces defective parts.
  • Pulls wire through conduits, holes, and splice, join, and / or connect wire to form circuits.
  • Tests circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
  • Completes daily field work orders and maintains hours worked and equipment used.
  • Completes inventory transfers and provides monthly warehouse inventory reports.
  • Senior Journeyman will complete on the job training documents for Junior Technicians.
  • Participation / compliance with company safety programs & company policies.
  • On-call support as required.
  • Other duties as required.

    • Required Skills / Qualifications :

  • Journeyman License.
  • Experience using pressure and / or electrical test equipment to troubleshoot systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) drawings.
  • Work long hours and participate in on-call schedule as required.
  • History of good customer relations.
  • Technical training or experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to learn and use an ERP system, IFS w / Aurena Tech Portal preferred.
  • Standard First Aid / CPR with AED, OSHA 30, and Safeland, with preference for OSHA500.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).
  • Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position.
  • Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech’s standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years)
