Therapy Aide - Physical Therapy Inpatient

Overview

The Therapy Aide is responsible for both clerical and patient care duties. The Therapy Aide is responsible for performing tasks in support, preparation for and application of treatment including, but not limited to : maintaining a safe, clean environment, stocked with appropriate supplies and equipment; monitoring, organizing and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment; transporting patient and supplies; performing general office duties; coordinating departmental volunteers; assisting in the construction and application of adaptive equipment, orthopaedic soft goods and splints; attending to the patient?s personal needs during therapy and assisting in the performance of patient-related activities under the direct supervision of the Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapist, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist; or the Occupational or Physical Therapist Assistant (named ?Therapist? throughout remainder of document). Collects and reports data but does not interpret such data. Demonstrates competencies defined (

• ) in Therapy Aide responsibilities in providing age-appropriate care and services to patients from the age of birth to 21 years, and selected adult patients.

HOURS : THIS ROLE IS ON CALL AS NEEDED, APPLICANT MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS . 8-16 hours / month
