Senior Industry Analyst - Mobile

THE OPPORTUNITY

TechInsights is looking for a qualified and motivated individual with a strong industry and market research background to join our Mobile Device team as an Industry Senior Analyst primarily focused on smartphone industry. The Mobile Industry Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing market data, maintaining assigned databases, and preparing presentations. The position also requires leading and conducting customized ad-hoc projects per clients’ requirements. Additionally, the role is responsible for interacting with clients and prospects, responding to customer inquiries, and communicating thought leadership.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Research company activity, market drivers and technology developments around smartphone and mobile device industry and ecosystem and develop a deep understanding of current and emerging industry trends. This includes insight and analysis across both supply and demand.
• Conduct primary and secondary research and consolidate data from multiple sources.
• Lead and conduct customized ad-hoc projects per clients’ requirements.
• Research, write and publish reports on smartphone market trends on a timely basis.
• Client Inquiry support - prioritize and respond to customer requests.
• Support global / regional and country level forecasts and analysis by providing detailed insight into market trends
• Research and collect data about smartphone and mobile device markets by utilizing in-house custom surveys, reviewing public company earnings, participating in analyst days, and many other activities, including attending events.
• Update company models with segment revenues and price tier brackets
• Analyze financial statements of companies in smartphone, mobile device and related industries
• Maintain and update customized databases to cater key clients’ needs
• Collaborate with other analysts and IT to effectively manage and communicate results to customers

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• 4-7 years of experience, with project management and implementation skills
• Strong quantitative, logic, qualitative research skills
• Ability to analyze the financial statements of public companies
• Expertise in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Polished written and oral communication skills
• Ability to write short form research and blogs (in English)
• Prefer experience with relational databases and basic knowledge of SQL
• Prefer experience with excel macros and basic knowledge of VBA
• Motivated to learn about the emerging technologies and trends around mobile industry
• Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is a plus, but not a requirement
