Introduction to the Role and Practice

Centra Medical Group has an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology Oncology Hospitalist Group. Qualified candidates must possess a master's degree, current licensure, and a strong desire to make a difference in our patient’s lives by providing excellent compassionate care. Oncology / Hematology experience is required.

This new and exciting position offers the opportunity to work with a talented team of hematologists / oncologists and advanced practice staff. The position is Monday through Friday, 8am – 4 : 30pm.

Job Summary Includes :

• Consultation with new admissions and follow up patient rounds.
• Manage acute and chronic symptoms, treatment side effects and oncologic emergencies in collaboration with hematologists / oncologists.
• Evaluate laboratory results, adjust supportive care plans and coordinate discharge planning with hospitalists and care team.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and other staff, ensuring continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their families facing cancer.
