The Chief Engineer is responsible for the oversight of the building maintenance of the property. This includes the interior as well as the exterior of the building. This person must be knowledgeable in HVAC, Refrigeration, and Electrical Engineering. Must also have experience with managing construction vendors on large renovation / remodeling projects.

Performs complex analytical work in providing office and building engineering support and field engineering support to ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria.

• The position is fundamental to the administrative and operational functions of the Company / Property and as such requires established organizational skills, with attention to detail and solid time management, and good interpersonal skills.
• As the key employee of the building operations interior and exterior, the Chief Engineer is essential to the longevity of all equipment and the aesthetic nature of the property. The Chief Engineer must perform the job duties with a view toward projecting a professional and competent image : Service to the customer in a friendly and outgoing manner is also essential, while timelines and maintaining a clean atmosphere are key.
• The position is fundamental to all mechanical functions of the community and includes working closely with the Association Manager and their maintenance team to operate the community and facilitate solutions to all types of maintenance problems within the community. Strong leadership skills, customer service skills, technical skills, and problem solving abilities are required.

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for interviewing, training, staff development and scheduling.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions and fumes. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

The schedule of the position is full time (40 hours a week) and will require to be available for emergencies and occasional night and weekend work due to special projects. This an exempt (salaried) position. This position will require to attend occasional off-site meetings during business hours and within the local city limits.
