Description :

This position is for a travel RN in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The unit operates with 41 beds and a staff of 60.

During the day shift, the unit has 1 charge nurse and over 9 registered nurses.

The night shift has 1 charge nurse and over 9 registered nurses.

Patient ratios may vary from 1 : 1, 1 : 2, 1 : 3, to 1 : 4, though the latter is rare.

The unit utilizes equipment such as HFOV, central lines, conventional vents, CPAP, and NIPPV.

Ostomy care and electronic medical record systems are also in use, namely CPN and Meditech.

Typical procedures performed in the unit include surgery (excluding heads and hearts), respiratory support, and care for micropreemies.

The ideal candidate should be team-oriented.
