Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ED - Emergency Department Discipline : RN Duration : 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Emergency Department RN We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) with an 8-bed ED caring for high-acuity patients in a fast-paced acute care setting. Position Details Unit : Emergency Department Shift : 12-hour shifts (6a-6p) Schedule : 36 hours / week Trauma Level : CAH (Stabilize & Transfer STEM / Stroke patients) Charting System : Cerner Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 3-4 based on acuity Patient Volume : 30 patients / day Scrubs : Navy Blue Required Certifications BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (NIHSS preferred) Key Responsibilities Perform ESI triage , patient assessments, and manage high-acuity ED cases Provide care for cardiac emergencies, trauma, stroke, ortho, GI, respiratory, ETOH, overdose, and pediatric patients Administer and manage critical drips and conscious sedation (including ketamine) Assist with intubations, ventilator management, telemetry interpretation , and emergency procedures Coordinate transfers for STEMI and stroke patients Deliver primary care nursing (no ED CNAs); draw labs with IV starts Collaborate with ED physicians, RT, security, and interdisciplinary teams Participate in Rapid Response and Code Teams as needed Unit Environment No designated triage nurse (all ED RNs triage) 2 psych-safe rooms with 24 / 7 in-house security RT available 24 / 7; RNs assist with respiratory equipment (NC, HF, CPAP, BiPAP, vents) Mindray Central Monitoring; RNs interpret own telemetry X-ray / CT located near ED.
