The Assistant Controller works closely with the Controller to manage the finance, accounting, and purchasing functions. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and records. / ppResponsibilities Include : / pulliPrepare monthly and year-end consolidated GAAP financial statements. / liliMaintain the company financial system to ensure proper financial reporting and accurate financial records to support the company structure. Detailed knowledge and understanding of Deltek Costpoint ERP system in a project accounting environment is preferred. / liliResponsible for supervising accounting functions including month-end close, billing, accounts receivable and payable, timekeeping and payroll, and travel reporting. Assure that proper records are kept. Detailed knowledge of staffs responsibilities / duties and ability to mentor and develop staff. / liliResponsible for supervising purchasing function to ensure all purchases are made in accordance with established processes and procedures. / liliResponsible for banking and treasury functions including daily cash planning and forecasting and compliance reporting. / liliEnsure the company is fully prepared for all audits. Support external auditors including financial government audits (DCAA and other) and support external tax preparation for all federal and state returns. / liliResponsible for reviewing internal controls for adequacy and ensuring compliance. / liliResponsible for reviewing and updating policies and procedures for responsible areas. / liliSupport the Companys Quality Program. / li / ulpSkills Preferred : / pulliBBA / BS in Accounting / liliCPA Preferred / liliMinimum of 10 years experience, including some public accounting experience / liliKnowledge of government contract accounting and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) / liliKnowledge of GAAP financial accounting principles and internal controls / liliKnowledge of tax compliance requirements including federal, state and local reporting / liliAbility to understand complex accounting structures and a logical thinker / liliDeltek Costpoint systems experience a plus, including report writing tools. / liliExcellent computer skills / li / ulpSpecialized Skills and Knowledge : / pulliStrategic and innovative mindset / liliBroad knowledge of multiple financial business functions / liliStrong interpersonal communication and relational skills / liliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to see the big picture / liliStrong teamwork skills / liliAbility to review all finance and accounting processes to ensure they are performed in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
