Inpatient Coding Specialist

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist (Full Time) Days.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate diagnoses and procedure codes

Adhere to the Standards of Ethical Coding and official coding guidelines

Utilize ICD-10-CM and CPT / HCPCS coding classification systems in an acute care or professional services setting

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

High school diploma required

Prior coding experience in ICD-10-CM and HCPCS / CPT coding

Certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CIRCC to be completed within 6 months of employment

Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT / HCPCS coding systems

Preferred A.S. or B.S. from an accredited Health Information program
