Job Description : JOB DESCRIPTION

Fall 2025 instructors needed for courses in : Public Speaking, Small Group Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Essentials of Argumentation

Primary Purpose : PRIMARY PURPOSE

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.

Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.

Minimum Qualifications :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication or organizational communication

Bachelor’s in any of the above

Master’s in drama / theater arts, mass communication or English

Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area

The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Salary Range : $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lecture unit rate, $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lab parity unit rate, $1113.42 - $1221.77 per lab unit rate

Special Instructions Summary : SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS SUMMARY

This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
