EMS - EMT Basic Academy

The EMS Academy offers a training curriculum, over a 15-week period, which covers the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards for the Emergency Medical Technician as well as skills required by the State of Texas. Recruits will acquire the knowledge and skills to professionally provide basic life support measures as a member of an ambulance crew, at the scene of an accident, during transport to a hospital, and in the medical facility. Upon graduating the EMS Academy and satisfactorily completing the National Registry EMT examination, recruits will have achieved certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Requirements :

• At least 18 years old on graduating date of the course
• Ability to do prolonged and physically strenuous work under hazardous conditions
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States
• Pass a criminal background and drug screen
• Provide a medical physician release for the fitness and capabilities of position
