Leasing Agent

Description

The purpose of this position is to perform land-related activities for oil and gas exploration and development, including, but not limited to, oil and gas leasing, mineral purchasing, title curative, well-staking, waterline and well line easement acquisition, and ingress / egress at drilling locations. Must be within driving distance of project site.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for researching, negotiating, and acquiring land agreements for oil and gas exploration, production and development that meet the organization's goals.
• Search for and determines various land ownership interests, including, but not limited to, mineral ownership and the locations of such owners.
• Work within the parameters set by the client insofar as negotiation terms.
• Draft contracts are required to satisfy client requirements.
• Prepare adequate daily activity reports and special landman reports relative to complex negotiations, damage settlements, and / or title curative instruments. May work in the office or in the field.
• Perform internal and external due diligence to ensure accuracy and completeness of land rights or to identify and bring forward deficiencies requiring remedial action.
• Serve as liaison with landowner on ownership, rights, damage claims and access issues.
• Effectively use established company and client policies, procedures, and processes to perform work.
• Maintain up-to-date status with Project Manager or client to ensure the assignment is completed following the client's procedures.
• Other duties as assigned
