Job Summary
This government entity is seeking assistance from now through the month of February. This role focuses on payroll and overtime processing, data tracking, procurement, billing, budget planning, and personnel support. You would also serve as the hiring manager for non-sworn School Police positions and may assist with scheduling officers for overtime as needed. Working closely with area and central administration, this role helps ensure that business operations run smoothly and effectively to support the department's mission.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Candidate must currently reside in Maryland
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, accounting, or a related field required.
- Minimum of three years of related business or financial management experience, including payroll, budget, and procurement responsibilities.
- Experience in a public school or government environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of payroll and financial management practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other relevant business technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Essential Functions
Process payroll and overtime for department staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Track and report data related to overtime, maintaining compliance with policies and budgetary limits.Manage procurement of goods and services for the department.Prepare and process billing for services provided to external partners.Assist in budget planning and monitor expenditures to support fiscal accountability.Serve as the hiring manager for School Police positions that are not sworn officers.Support scheduling of School Police officers for overtime assignments as needed.Maintain accurate records and prepare operational and financial reports.Collaborate with school leadership and central administration to enhance efficiency in business operations.Ensure compliance with equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination policies, as well as applicable federal, state, and district policies.Job Requirements
