Trinity Health of New England Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our well established and respected practice at the Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute in Hartford, Connecticut.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an expanding orthopedic practice that sees a high volume of surgical referrals from the extensive network of Trinity Health of New England primary care partners practicing throughout Central Connecticut. JOB DESCRIPTION

The surgeon will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with traumatic orthopedic issues, with a well-rounded experience including general orthopedics, arthritis, and sports injuries. OPPORTUNITY DETAILS

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including residents (UConn), physical therapists, physician assistants (robust team of >

10 PAs), and other specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  • Utilize the latest surgical techniques and technologies for minimally invasive treatments, including navigation, arthroscopy, and robotic-assisted surgery to improve patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research as desired.
  • Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and rehabilitation plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with practice standards and regulations.
  • Take general orthopedic trauma call at our Level 1 Facility (roughly 4 weekdays per month on average, and roughly 1 weekend on average). No primary call (always a PA / resident in-house). Two other employed traumatologists are available to manage complex cases in handoff.

    • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Fellowship-trained in Orthopedic Traumatology, or with a strong interest in career-long trauma care.
  • Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in CT.
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills with a commitment to excellence in patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
