Equipment Operator
Position Summary : Experience operating equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steer loaders, haul trucks, crushers. Responsible for driving / operating heavy equipment vehicles to move rock products to selected intake crushing / screening site and deposit loads into intake areas. Accountability of the safe and timely transportation of loads to final destination.
Responsibilities & Expectations : Heavy Equipment Operation
- Safe operation of mobile equipment (wheel loader, haul trucks & scrappers)
- Abide by all company policies and procedures
- Abide by all State and Federal laws
Preventive Maintenance of Heavy Equipment
Perform pre-shift inspection on vehicle prior to operationFuel equipment as needed and properly log all fuel requiredReport or fix all items found during pre-shift inspectionPerform preventive maintenance on truck when needed, with preventive maintenance being :Check & top off fluidsLubricate (grease)Tire maintenance (pressure & Visual inspection)Safety
Follow directions and follow the Nolanville mine planAttend scheduled safety meetingsMaintain a clean and safe work environmentComplete Pre-shift inspections on any assigned Heavy Equipment and submit to Plant OperatorPromote safety among co-workers utilizing BBSFollow all safety policies and procedures
Perform all assigned work adhering to Company and governmental safety rules and regulations, including company lock out tag out proceduresQuality Control
Follow directions and dump mined ore in designated location as directedReport any deviations from the norm that might impact product quality or processing efficienciesWeigh truck and properly log weight of material hauled as required(SQF) Safe Quality Feed
All personnel will be responsible for the facilities' Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices.Attributes
Fulfill all requirements and possess a Class A or B Commercial Driver's LicenseSelf-motivated and must be able to work independentlyIntimate working knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to operation of vehicles, specifically heavy trucks requiring a Commercial Driver's LicenseDetailed knowledge and understanding of over the road heavy truck operation and safety requirementsMust be capable of working shift work, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed.Able to lift over 50 pounds.Demonstrated skills heavy equipment operation a plus, but minimum as demonstrated for an over the road haul truckHistory of safe operation of vehicle as demonstrated on driving recordPhysical Demands Include, But Are Not Limited To :
Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, limestone, noise and dust.Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels. Able to lift 50 pounds.Work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.Have a telephone and be open to overtime and call-outsRequired Education : High School Diploma or GED.
