Post Doctoral Fellow

Job Summary : The Postdoctoral Fellowship provides mentoring and additional training that will prepare a recent doctoral graduate for an independent position in teaching, direct services, or research. Performs other duties as needed. The Center for Nutrition, Healthy Lifestyles, and Disease Prevention in the School of Public Health at Loma Linda University is currently accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship to advance the research of Environmental Nutrition. The goal of our research is to move society toward a sustainable food system. A great applicant will have a doctoral degree in a field in nutritional epidemiology or environmental health, a background or training in public health, proven quantitative skills working on large data sets, and professional English writing skills. Education and Experience : Doctoral Degree required. Minimum one year of experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills : Knowledge of search policies, regulations (institutional, state, and federal), business processes and best practices; read and write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; communicate effectively; good interpersonal skills; maintain high level of confidentiality and ethical integrity; team player yet work independently with minimal supervision; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; organize and prioritize workload; manage multiple assignments effectively; accept direction; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; show critical independent thinking; make quick and informed decisions, detail-oriented. Use computer and software programs necessary to the position; perform basic math functions; distinguish colors and smells as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.
