Job Title : Registered Nurse - PCU Location (Onsite, Remote, or Hybrid?) : Wilmington, NC (ONSITE) Contract Duration : 13 weeks Working Hours : Night 3x12-Hour (18 : 45 - 07 : 15) Total Weekly Hours : 36hrs REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP : Minimum Years of Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. Traveler Experience : Required UNLESS traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. Locals Accepted / Rate Difference : Yes Skills : Cardiac Telemetry, PCU / DOU / IMC / Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Post MI, Pre / Post Cardiac Cath, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Chest tubes-Emerson / Pleuravac, External CPAP / BIPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management Certs : BLS & ACLS, NIHSS PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP : Arterial line management, Wound Care / Wound Vac, and Charge Experience JOB DETAILS : Ratios : Varies per Acuity. Ratios are 1 : 4 for surgical step down, and 1 : 5-6 for lower acuity Shift : NIGHTS 36 HOURS ONLY 13-26 weeks accepted Float Requirement : Will follow unit rotation - not first to float Weekend Requirement : 4 per 4 weeks (flexible) Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and / or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed PATIENT DIAGNOSES : Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis / regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation / Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal. SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS : CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT : Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires. UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication) : Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR UNIT ORIENTATION : 24 hours SCRUBS : Navy
