Transformation Therapy Group currently has part -time school based COTA opportunities available in Detroit, MI

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate COTA to join our team. As a school based COTA, you will work closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and other professionals to provide therapeutic interventions and support to students with various physical, developmental, and cognitive challenges. Your role will be crucial in helping students achieve their academic and functional goals, promoting their independence and overall well-being. This position will be in-person. We have full time and part time opportunities.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students with diverse needs.
- Assist in conducting screens and assessments to identify students' strengths, limitations, and areas for improvement.
Provide support by collaborating with teachers and working with students in group settings, to enhance their motor skills, sensory integration, and functional abilities.
. - Adapt and modify classroom activities and environments to promote students' participation and independence.Assist in educating and training teachers, parents, and other school staff on strategies and techniques to improve student's level of function in the academic setting.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of students' progress, treatment plans, and interventions.Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to students' overall development and well-being.Stay updated on the latest research, trends, and best practices in occupational therapy to enhance the quality of services provided. Qualifications :Valid certification as a COTA from an accredited program.Current state licensure or eligibility to practice as a COTA.Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and interventions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other professionalsAbility to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.Proficiency in using technology and software applications relevant to occupational therapy practice.Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in all aspects of the jobSchedule and Compensation : The schedule for this position will align with the school calendar and may include some after-school hours for meetings or events. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
