Job Description

Venteon is currently seeking an Accounting Manager-Controller to fill an opening with an established general company located in Canton, MI.

Requirements of the Accounting Manager-Controller

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in an engineering, architecture, or professional services firm preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and project-based accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Quick Books) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction and engineering.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    • Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager-Controller

  • Manage daily accounting functions including overseeing accounts payable, general ledger, forecasting, and project cost accounting.
  • Lead monthly and annual close processes; prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals for audits and filings.
  • Implement and optimize accounting systems.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff; promote a culture of accuracy and accountability.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support project management and executive decision-making.
