Description
The Wrapper Supervisor is responsible for supervising and maintaining the quality of the wrapper room and all of our egg roll wrappers. The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude and enthusiastic personality as well as a demonstrated ability to work cohesively with staff and with other managers and supervisors. This position is responsible for providing direction, training, and development of employees and to uphold our company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all wrapping and packaging activities during 2nd shift to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
- Oversees the production and storage of egg roll wrappers
- Oversee that all the equipment in the wrapper room is clean and in proper working condition, and reports any issues so that they are taken care of in a timely fashion
- Maintain and ensure all areas of the wrapper room, work area and equipment are organized and clean at the end of the shift
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including GMPs, HACCP, and SQF
- Examine and inspect all items to ensure that quality specifications are upheld
- Ensure product is ready and packed for scheduled production times
- Ensure all finished products are counted and packed in a neat and organized way
- Notifies production management immediately when any sub-standard product quality is encountered
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the shift
- Ensure a sense of urgency from all wrapping team members
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety and cleanliness on the floor
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Support continuous improvement efforts and offer feedback to improve processes and product flow.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Competencies & Skill Requirements
This person must understand the science behind baked goods, and they need to know how to work commercial baking equipment. They may also have to scale recipes up or down, so they’ll need to know their baking math.This position requires the ability to motivate and lead a team, along with strong time management and organizational skills.Qualifications & Experience
1-2 year’s experience in a supervisory or leadership role, requiredPrevious baking experience, and knowledge requiredBasic math skills. Must be able to add, multiply, count and verify numbersAttention to detail to ensure product quality and accurate documentationAbility to multi-task, prioritize work, and respond to real-time production needsStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to remain calm under pressure and solve problems quickly on the floorProficient in basic computer use (Excel, data entry systems, email)High school diploma or GED requiredAbility to train and coach new employees on GMP standardsAble to read, write, and understand EnglishWorking knowledge of ERP or production systems (e.g., SAP)Experience working on or around wrapper / packaging lines is strongly preferredWillingness to work 2nd shift and occasional overtime as neededBilingual preferredWork Environment
This is a food manufacturing facility. The environment may vary from warm to wet, to cold, to freezing, depending where you are in the plant. The environment in the wrapper room contains flour dust.Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for extended periods of time.Occasionally required to balance or climb.Frequently lift and / or move up to 50 poundsBenefits
