Job Title : Systems Administrator II

Job Location : Petersburg, VA

Project Duration : 6 months with possible extension

(W2 Position only)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties :

We are seeking Senior Systems Administrator at R

  • college in Petersburg, VA on a 6-month contract period. . In this role, youll ensure the reliability, security, and performance of Windows and Red Hat Linux servers in a VMware environment, while supporting key enterprise systems like Ellucian Banner, Canvas, and Unidata.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform OS upgrades, patches, and system performance tuning
  • Maintain server security and support vulnerability remediation
  • Troubleshoot issues across Windows, Linux, VMware, and enterprise apps
  • Support DR planning, documentation, and implementation
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues
  • Assist with cloud migrations and create / maintain technical procedures
  • Manage integrations (APIs, SFTP, web services) for ERP and related systems

    • What You Bring :

  • 5+ years of system administration experience
  • Strong Windows, Red Hat Linux, VMware, and scripting skills (PowerShell / Unix)
  • Experience with Banner, Unidata, Transact, Perceptive Content, Canvas
  • Knowledge of CIS controls, ITIL, networking, firewalls, and database admin
  • Ability to support after-hours maintenance when required
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
