Database Administrator (DBA) - Contract

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Data Architect is responsible for management oversight, provisioning, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of cloud services, on premises database environments, budgeting and planning of IT Operations. This individual will lead technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the technology services organization. This individual ensures that cloud tenants, system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, policies, and procedures.

This individual is accountable for the following systems : Azure / 365 Tenant Management, Server Environments for On-Premises Hosted Data Centers, Virtualization Systems, Storage systems, Software Development Schematics, Business Intelligence and Analytics, Maintenance and Capital Budget planning and projects as assigned by the Technology Services Director.

THE DETAILS :

This contract Database Administrator (DBA) position is expected to span an initial six-month term, with the potential for extension based on ongoing project demand. The DBA will provide critical support for several strategic, high-priority initiatives planned for 2026, with primary emphasis on ACO Analytics and Data & Analytics (D&A) initiatives, including the Snowflake migration. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Database Administration

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure high performance, security, and availability.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
• Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures.
• Optimize and tune database queries for efficiency after being released to production
• Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database schemas.
• Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate measures.
• Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and provide support to end-users.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with data protection regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA
• Proficiency in database management systems including related tools (e.g., SQL Server ,data lakes, document stores, event hubs).
• Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding.
• Application ecosystem troubleshooting.

COMPENSATION : $70 - $80 per hour. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographic location
