We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. The OR RN will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, a strong understanding of surgical procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities
- Preoperative Care : Assess patients' conditions before surgery, review medical histories, and ensure all necessary preoperative preparations are completed.
- Intraoperative Care : Assist surgeons during operations by preparing and passing instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and monitoring patients' vital signs.
- Postoperative Care : Monitor patients' recovery from anesthesia, manage pain, and provide postoperative instructions and care.
- Collaboration : Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients' conditions, treatments, and progress.
- Patient Education : Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, postoperative care, and recovery processes.
- Emergency Response : Provide immediate care in case of surgical complications or emergencies.
- Sterilization and Safety : Ensure all surgical instruments and environments are properly sterilized and adhere to safety protocols.
Requirements and Skills
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or an associate degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.Licensure : Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).Experience : Proven experience as an OR RN or in a similar surgical nursing role.
