About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - ICU / PCU Float

Experience :
Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU required.
Experience at a large Level 1 or 2 facility preferred.
License :
Active state RN license required.
Pending licenses accepted only if from a non-compact state.
Certifications : ACLS
BLS
NIHSS
Must-Have :
Must be comfortable working all ICU and PCU units.
Charting experience with EPIC required.
IV therapy experience including arterial line management, central / PICC line care, and blood product administration.
Experience in respiratory support, including BiPAP and CPAP management.
Medication administration experience, including continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
Wound care experience with surgical wounds and drains or wound vacs.
Cardiac monitoring experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
Familiarity with IV insulin protocol adherence.
Description :
Position requires a Registered Nurse to float between ICU and PCU departments.
Scheduling involves three 12-hour night shifts, with potential floating every 4 hours based on staffing needs.
Weekend shifts may be required every other weekend or six shifts in a six-week scheduling block.
Holiday coverage is required, with one holiday per 13-week contract.
The position accepts first-time travelers and locals based on specified radius criteria.
Call-off policy allows the facility to call off one shift per two weeks.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Patient ratios in the PCU average 5 : 1, while in the ICU it is 2 : 1.
Candidates must comply with COVID-19 and flu vaccination requirements, with medical or religious exemptions considered.
Potential for multiple floats within a single shift, emphasizing adaptability.
Travelers to be prepared for a dynamic work environment with re-evaluated staffing every four hours.
Candidates should expect to work with adult and geriatric populations.
Commitment to a high standard of patient care and teamwork is essential.
