Are you ready to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers? We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated STEM Teaching Assistant to join our exciting Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAfG) Team. If you're passionate about sparking elementary-aged girls' interest in STEM and ready to make a difference, you're in the right place. (A teaching credential is not required.)

The STEM Teaching Assistant position is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt post. This role reports directly to the Director of Programs. For more of an understanding about our afterschool program, check out what our classes look like : SAfG in Action!

COMMITMENT :

• 15 - 20 hrs / week (September 2025 - June 2026)

Potential to extend work into the Summer to teach 5-week summer programs.

Additional Work Hours : In-person meetings about once a month for training and team meetings

As a STEM Teaching Assistant, you'll be at the heart of our mission. Your role includes :

Read the facilitator guide for the science project and coordinate with the Head teacher ahead of class time regarding the project for each class and how you can best assist.

Other Programmatic Support as needed :

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR :

A qualified candidate will possess a combination of the following education and / or equivalent experience :

Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to

perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to

enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in a variety of school classrooms and at a computer, communicating with others in person, on the telephone, and online.

Will require time in a variety of school environments : frequent travel across uneven concrete floors and bark while transporting materials, intervals of time outdoors in varying environmental conditions, extensive public speaking often in noisy environments, and exposure to high levels of noise.
