Nursing Assistant Position

The Nursing Assistant performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Functions within the framework of the NAI listing granted by the NC Department of Health and Human Services. Practices within the philosophy and goals of patient care services. In addition, the Nursing Assistant may be utilized in the Observer Role responsible for monitoring one or more assigned patients on a designated unit for a specified time period.

Responsibilities include participating in Quality Improvement activities, attending staff development programs, following hospital and unit-based policies and procedures, building interpersonal relations and communications, and making unit, department and hospital contributions.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, NAI listing with the NC Department of Health and Human Services, experience in a comparable facility, American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification, and de-escalation training.

The position is located at ECU Health Duplin Hospital - Emergency Department, working nights, full-time (36hrs / week) from 7PM-7AM. Weekends are required.
