Carolinas Hospitalists Group is looking for an APP to join the hospitalist team at our Charlotte CMC Main location.
Position Details
- Full-time position with a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule
- Hours : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM
- Responsibilities : Admissions and Rounding
- No call , but shifts may include cross-cover responsibilities
- 100% inpatient adult medicine
- Work side-by-side with several physicians and APPs using a team-based approach
Experience Required
Graduation from an accredited NP or PA programNurse Practitioners must hold a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with ACNP or AGACNP board certification .Physician Assistants must hold certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) . CAQ certification preferred.Current license to practice as NP or PA in North CarolinaCurrent prescriptive privileges and DEA licenseBLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) – must be valid at least 90 days beyond start dateDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skillsAbility to perform thorough history and physical assessmentsAbility to function within a multidisciplinary teamJob Summary
Specialty care APPs provide concentrated services on a single system, caring for both acute and chronically ill patients. This includes clinic-based and / or hospitalized patient care.
Essential Functions
Perform initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessmentsRecord findings of examinations, assessments, and plan of carePerform minor medical and / or surgical proceduresWrite prescriptions and administer medicationsOrder and interpret daily laboratory and radiology studiesDetermine treatment plans for patientsDocument all patient encounters and interventions appropriately in the medical recordAct as a patient advocate for the population servedAttend, participate, and contribute to group / practice meetings and policy development as requestedPhysical Requirements
Frequent walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pullingMust be able to lift and support 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and suppliesMust possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterityMust speak English fluently and in understandable termsMust be able to react and perform in stressful situationsSchedule may include weekdays, nights, swings, holidays, and weekends, with greater than 400 hours of weekend and / or night coverage annuallyEducation, Experience, and Certifications
Must have or be eligible for a DEA licenseApproved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of practiceEligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board (SC if applicable)BLS certification requiredNurse Practitioner :
