We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. In this long-term contract role, you will oversee complex financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Your expertise will drive the efficient handling of bond and mortgage transactions, reconciliation tasks, and audit preparation.
Responsibilities :
- Analyze and record monthly financial transactions based on trustee data and bond or mortgage documentation.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts with bond, mortgage, escrow schedules, and trustee bank accounts.
- Collaborate with the controller to prepare year-end accrual entries for bond interest, mortgage interest, and investment income.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for Single Family Program loans to meet both internal and external reporting needs.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Process transactions related to loan funding, credit line draws and repayments, write-offs, and reimbursements.
- Resolve discrepancies in trial balance
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures with precision.
- Support audit activities by preparing necessary financial documentation.
- Proven experience in month-end closing procedures and general ledger management.
- Strong skills in account reconciliation and accurate journal entry preparation.
- Knowledge of bond financing and mortgage lending processes.
- Familiarity with audit preparation
- Attention to detail and the ability to resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and maintaining accurate trial balances.
- Experience using financial systems and tools for reconciliation and transaction tracking.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills to handle complex financial tasks.
