Warehouse Associate

Location : Edward Don & Company - Miramar, FL

Time Type : Full time

Compensation : $19.89 +.50 shift differential

Sun-Thu 5 : 00pm - finish, 8+ hour shift, OT mandatory

Summary

Responsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas.

Essential Duties

  • Accurately select / pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.
  • Load merchandise into appropriate truck.
  • Drop merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots.
  • Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.
  • Repack loose merchandise for shipping / delivery.
  • Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy.
  • Accurately adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, "Preferred Method Standard".
  • Identify and report slot and put-away problems.
  • Shrink wrap merchandise / pallets after picking as needed.
  • Perform house keeping duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will have ability to :

  • Operate forklift / pallet jack and cherry picker.
  • Lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift.
  • Bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time.
  • Successfully complete forklift training / certification requirements.
  • Operate a Radio Frequency (RF) or Voice Pick devices.

    • Work Environment

  • Job is performed in a warehouse / operations environment.
  • Frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment.
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.
  • Work hours may vary or change based on customer orders, departmental or business requirements.
  • The position does not require travel.

    • Qualifications

    Required :

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a functional capacity test.

    • Preferred :

  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • 1+ year warehouse experience.
  • Previous forklift certification.
  • Material handling equipment experience.
  • Reach truck experience.
