Senior Security Officer In Regional / Resource Services

This position travels and works at several Providence locations throughout the Portland metro service area.

Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer. Performs a variety of intermediate level technical security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high risk areas. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organizations within the Oregon Region.

Required Qualifications :

• Coursework / Training : Successful completion of one of the following :
• Certified law enforcement academy, such as corrections, police, reserve or military police, Or
• Completion of certified military training, Or
• Healthcare Security Officer Advanced or Supervisor Certification through IAHSS
• Coursework / Training : Successful completion of 5 additional FEMA Emergency Management Institute Courses from Security Services Approved Course List.
• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Oregon Private Security Armed / Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training upon hire, Or
• Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training upon hire, Or
• Oregon Private Security Temporary Work Permit upon hire.
• Upon hire : Valid Driver's License
• 3 years experience in security or law enforcement in lieu of associates degree
• Experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications
