5 : 30 AM – 2 : 00 PM (overtime as needed) Days : Monday–Friday (Saturdays as needed) Position : Hourly — $17.00 per hour Payroll : Bi-weekly Open Until Filled Job Summary The Laborer / Molder is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the foundry’s direct labor operations.This position involves creating and forming sand cores and molds used in the production of metal castings.The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Daily tasks include cleaning and smoothing molds, packing sand into mold sections, assisting with pouring molten metal, operating machines, positioning workpieces, and ensuring product quality. Essential Functions & Responsibilities The Laborer / Molder supports foundry production by preparing, forming, and maintaining sand molds and cores used in metal casting.This role includes operating molding equipment, packing and smoothing sand, assisting with pouring operations, positioning workpieces, and ensuring finished-product quality.The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment.Essential Functions & Responsibilities Maintain general shop housekeeping, including sweeping, shoveling sand, knocking out cores, cleaning cores, and loading / unloading materials.Shake out molds and place jackets and weights on each mold.Assist molders and dump poured molds into the shaker unit at the appropriate time.Maintain safe operations by following all safety procedures and regulations.Mix materials used to create molds and castings.Assemble mold parts and fill molds with mixed materials.Fill molds or apply materials to specified thickness.
Operate and adjust heating equipment to melt or cure materials.Load or stack filled molds in ovens, dryers, or curing boxes.Read work orders and follow specifications.Measure and mix molding or casting materials; measure and cut products to required dimensions.Perform accurate measurements and maintain production records.Perform basic maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating machine parts.Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment.Report daily production quantities and completed items for each work order.Pack, smooth, and prepare sand molds and cores to meet quality standards.Operate molding and production equipment as required for daily operations.Position workpieces and ensure proper setup for molding and casting processes.Assist with pouring operations and support production flow during metal casting.Inspect molds, cores, and finished workpieces for accuracy and quality.Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience as a laborer / molder in a foundry or manufacturing work preferred.Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools and power tools.Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.Excellent hand–eye coordination and attention to detail.Strong communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to perform accurate measurements and basic arithmetic.Ability to work seasonal shift hours and different shifts as required.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor in an industrial setting.Strong commitment to quality and safety.Ability to follow instructions, read work orders, and maintain production records.Ability to work in an environment with heat, noise, and dust.Reliable attendance and punctuality.Must be 18 years or older and able to understand and adhere to all job requirements, safety guidelines, and company policies.Physical Requirements This position requires standing for extended periods and performing physical labor, including lifting, twisting, and bending.General Physical Demands :
