Gastroenterology Physician

Pen Bay Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide ongoing locum coverage in beautiful Rockport, Maine. This assignment offers a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends or weeknight call , supported by a strong OR team and full travel assistance. Assignment Details Location : Pen Bay Medical Center Rockport, ME Schedule : Monday Friday, 8-hour days (7am 4pm) with 30-minute lunch Call : Daytime call only (no overnight, weekends, or after-hours call) Coverage Commitment : Must be available for at least one week per month through June 2026 Setting : Inpatient and outpatient scope work (approx. 1 day / week in clinic) Procedures : General GI required; ERCP not required EMR : Epic Credentialing : 90 days Confirmed Coverage Blocks Providers must be available for at least one week per month. The ideal candidate can cover multiple or all dates below : November , 2025 (7a 4p) December 8 12, 2025 (7a 4p) January 5 9, 2026 (7a 4p) January , 2026 (7a 4p) February 1 6, 2026 (7a 4p) February 8 13, 2026 (7a 4p) February , 2026 (7a 4p) March 2 6, 2026 (7a 4p) March 9 13, 2026 (7a 4p) March 29 April 3, 2026 (7a 4p) April , 2026 (7a 4p) April , 2026 (7a 4p) May 3 8, 2026 (7a 4p) May , 2026 (7a 4p) June 1 5, 2026 (7a 4p) June 8 12, 2026 (7a 4p) Clinical Scope Inpatient endoscopic procedures (performed in the OR) Outpatient clinic approximately patients / day Required Procedures : Lower GI Endoscopy Sigmoidoscopy Colonoscopy Upper GI Endoscopy (diagnostic, with biopsy, variceal banding, and foreign body removal) Preferred : Providers who also perform therapeutic / advanced procedures Anesthesia Support : Each procedure room includes both a CRNA and an anesthesiologist for full anesthesia coverage. Requirements Board Certified in Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA) Required Active ME License or IMLC LOQ Preferred- IPL can help with Maine Licensure! ACLS & BLS Certifications Required- IPL can help with Life Support certifications if needed.
