Job Description :

Location : Springfield, Massachusetts

Mount Kemble Search Group, the direct hire division of CoWorx Staffing Services, has an opportunity for as skilled machinist to perform mechanical work using various machine tools. The role is not in manufacturing, but more on the mechanical side. This is a F / T, direct hire role, 1st shift, at an hourly rate of $25 -$40, BOE.

This role will be responsible for performing skilled tasks in accordance with standard machining practices. You will be tasked with determining proper methods, set-up, and machining parameters associated with the job given to you. Instructions relating to work assignments may be oral or written and may or may not be accompanied by sketches and blueprints. Industrial equipment rebuilding requires employee flexibility to work on a wide variety equipment with each job being one of a kind.

Lathe Work

Milling Machines

Grinding

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

More than occasional heavy (over 60 lb.) lifting, moving, and carrying; must be able to climb up onto machines and large, awkward work pieces.

Able to reach, climb, manipulate parts, and stoop in the set up of machines.

Able to stand for a full shift while operating machines.

Able to use lifting and moving equipment. (come-a-longs, chainfalls, hoists, slings, rolling skids)

Desired Background / Skills :

Graduate of a four year Technical / Trade High School.

Machinist training at a Trade School / Training Center (WMPI) with training in blueprint reading and drafting.

Possess good blueprint reading, shop math, and decision-making skills.

Have good mechanical ability and ability to communicate ideas with others.

MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS :

Willing to work in other departments when required.

Willing and capable of working overtime especially at a moments notice. Must be available to be called in after hours in the evenings, weekends, holidays, etc. as required, to service our customers on a 24 hour basis
