Pay Rate : $28 / hr.
Position Overview
This contract role supports PepsiCo’s R&D Operations
and Measurement Sciences team within the (PFNA) portfolio. The Associate
Scientist will focus on generating analytical insights by testing food
ingredients and materials using both physical and chemical methodologies. The
role supports innovation, productivity, and ingredient functionality initiatives,
while working closely with product development, operations, and analytical
teams. This position offers exposure to a diverse set of analytical techniques
and provides opportunities for continued learning and growth in laboratory
testing and measurement sciences.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Testing & Laboratory Work
Conduct
basic to advanced testing of food samples using internal lab capabilities.
Operate,
maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and analytical
equipment.
Capture
and manage data using Laboratory Information Management Systems (e.g.,
LabVantage).
Support
method development and validation for new and existing analytical
techniques.
Deliver
accurate, timely, and cost-effective analytical results with minimal
supervision.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Insights
Provide
analytical insights that support product development, innovation, and
productivity initiatives.
Collaborate
with cross-functional partners to resolve technical challenges related to
ingredients and finished products.
Train
team members and stay up to date on scientific literature, intellectual
property, and external technical advancements.
Documentation, Quality, & Compliance
Maintain
accurate documentation and ensure measurement reliability consistent with
Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Adhere
to all Health & Safety policies, laboratory safety protocols, and site
procedures.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s
degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or related scientific
discipline.
3+
years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry preferred.
Hands-on
experience in analytical food chemistry.
Proficiency
with LIMS and technical documentation tools.
Strong
understanding of analytical techniques, laboratory instrumentation, and
statistical analysis.
Excellent
critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Effective
communication and technical writing skills.
Ability
to work independently and collaboratively within a laboratory team.
Knowledge
of safe handling of hazardous chemicals and lab safety procedures.
