Summary
Shipping and Receiving Clerk position verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipments. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for preparing items for shipment and assuring proper control of parts inventory and related administrative functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Count, weigh or measure items on incoming and outgoing shipments, verify information against invoices, orders and other records.
- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Keep all bins, aisles and storage areas clean and clearly labeled.
- Maintain receiving and shipping records, delivery truck maintenance records and returned parts records.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Must be able to safely operate heavy machinery (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
- Complete required training assigned through the company training portal.
- Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule.
- Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions to uphold the Foundation Automotive brand.
- Effectively perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving recordFork Lift Certification, ability to become certified within 90 days of employmentExperience operating heavy machinery (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, etc.)High school diploma or equivalent requiredSuccessful completion of pre-employment screeningAuthorization to work in the USA
