Core Laboratory Section Supervisor

Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.

Job Summary:

The Core Laboratory Supervisor oversees operations across two hospital campuses, including a main facility and a satellite emergency center. This position is responsible for the supervision of 18 FTE MLS and MLT, ensuring efficient and accurate laboratory operations. Key responsibilities include oversight of testing, quality control, staff training and competency assessment, instrument maintenance and selection, and adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards. The Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining high-quality patient care through leadership, operational excellence, and continuous quality improvement across both sites.

Education and Related Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field required.
• ASCP or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience, including demonstrated technical expertise in core laboratory disciplines (chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and immunology).
• Supervisory or lead technologist experience preferred, with proven ability to manage staffing, scheduling, and workflow across multiple sites.
• Experience with regulatory and accreditation compliance (e.g., CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission).
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and instrument middleware; experience with analyzer validation and selection preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and hospital sites.
