FIC America Corp. is a global Tier 1 automotive components manufacturer centrally located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. We are actively seeking a forklift operator to ensure production lines are stocked and materials / parts are delivered to the shipping area. Bring supplies to the line. Pick up and load raw materials onto machines. Time driving forklift is contingent on business needs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Complete forklift pre-shift inspection and review check sheet prior to shift; check oil and brakes
  • Signal presence to workers by primarily sounding horn and by other means
  • Use controls or levers to operate forklifts and lift prongs to load, unload, transport, or stack raw materials
  • Set position of lifting devises under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or containers
  • Secure materials or products for transport to designated areas
  • Communicate inventory levels with Team Leader or Supervisor throughout shift to prevent shortages and downtime
  • Inspect material loads for accuracy
  • Manually lift raw materials and load them onto machines
  • Clean and maintain work areas and machinery to ensure proper functioning and safe work conditions
  • Complete and satisfactorily pass forklift operator training that is provided by the company
  • Follow standard work instructions
  • Perform other duties assigned

Other Job Functions

  • Comply with FIC’s Safety policies and procedures
  • Comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and standards
  • Perform 5-S activities

    • Requirements :

  • 1+ years of sit down forklift experience is required
  • Must be able to speak and read basic English to comply with position, Safety, Plant & PPE procedures and requirements
  • Forklift experience and capability to pass an assessment
  • Willingness to work with an ERP system
  • Must be willing to cross-train
  • Must be able to work company’s required overtime
  • Must comply with FIC’s Attendance and Punctuality Policy

    • Pay Range $19 - $22 / hour based on qualifications and experience

    Additional Compensation We operate two shifts and 2nd Shift employees are given a $1 / hour shift differential
