Job Summary

Fantastic Sam’s offers a wide range of professional services including haircuts, color and highlights, and specialty services. As a hairstylist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional hair care services to our guests, as well as product knowledge and application, and styling recommendations and techniques. The hairstylist will be expected to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment and follow all safety guidelines. Salon Hairstylist Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the hairstyling industry, an extraordinary commitment to customer service and delivering an amazing experience for our guests, creative talent, passion for learning and keeping up with styling trends, and a positive attitude that contributes to the team maintaining a fun and amazing culture for your coworkers and our guests.

Specific duties to include:

· Perform hand-on-hair care such as trimming, cutting, and coloring.

· Greet guests in a friendly manner while maintaining a professional atmosphere.

· Provide product knowledge and product application services to our guests.

· Provide salon in retail styling advice for guests.

· Recommend products based on the needs of the customer.

· Cleaning and sanitizing workstations and tools using commercial cleaning products and procedures.

· Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current trends in hair care products and styling techniques.

· Perform other duties as assigned by management to keep the salon running smoothly.

Ability to commute/relocate:

Qualifications:

• A valid cosmetology license
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Industry passion
• Successful completion of a cosmetology school is required
• Proven experience as a stylist, hairdresser, or similar role is preferred
• In-depth skill and knowledge of hair cutting and coloring techniques and best practices
• Familiar with a variety of hair products
• Up-to-date with hair trends

Qualifications:

· Active Cosmetology or Barber license as required by state/provincial regulations.

· 1 or more years of experience behind the chair as a Hairstylist or Colorist.

· Ability to provide exceptional guest service, understanding the guest’s needs, providing quality consultations and performing services requested in an efficient and professional manner.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
