Forklift Operator / Material Handler

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler who will play a key role in ensuring accurate inventory management for our controlled material stock. You will work collaboratively with a diverse team to monitor, organize, and maintain our company's product inventory across multiple branch locations.

Responsibilities

Operate sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and side-loader forklifts. Conduct inventory control and cycle counting duties. Enter and manually record inventory data using a computer and clipboard. Load and unload raw metal materials both manually and with a forklift. Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill. Coordinate material movement from stock to processing to support production requirements. Operate material handling equipment to facilitate material movement. Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system. Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags. Complete material consolidation tasks, including maintaining a supermarket. Identify material shortages and issues, and communicate them to appropriate staff. Verify scrap materials. Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all work. Assist the quality assurance team in activities related to credits. Perform equipment preventative maintenance and clean up.

Essential Skills

Experience operating a sit-down forklift. Strong attendance and work history indicating reliability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Warehouse experience. Forklift operation skills. Inventory control expertise. Proficiency with computers. Order picking and packing skills. General labor experience.

Work Environment

You will be working in a large raw material supplier facility that stores, cuts, and ships materials to customers in a fast-paced aerospace environment. The main building is located in Auburn, WA, with shifts available from 4am-2 : 30pm, Monday to Thursday. Additional shifts include Monday-Friday and Friday-Sunday, with competitive pay. The environment is dynamic, requiring a focus on safety and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.70 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
