Sign Language Interpreter in Indianapolis, IN

Provide essential American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services in a high school setting to support a student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH). This contract position offers an opportunity to facilitate effective communication and full access to instruction by bridging the gap between the student and classroom content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate ASL interpretation during core content lessons and general coursework.
• Facilitate ongoing communication between the student, teachers, and peers.
• Support the students access to classroom instruction and educational activities.
• Collaborate with educators to ensure the students needs are met throughout the school day.

Qualifications:

• Current registration under the Sign Language Interpreter and Transliteration Registration Act.
• Fluent proficiency in American Sign Language.
• Strong understanding of the educational requirements of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written directions accurately.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration.

Work Schedule and Location:

• Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM 2:15 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM 12:45 PM
• Onsite position based in Indianapolis, IN, at a high school.

Contract Details:

• Duration: Immediate start through June 1, 2026.
• One position available.
