The average patient census is 38 with a focus on Infection, Respiratory, Diabetic, GI, Oncology, End of Life, and some surgical. The unit offers a meditation room for its employees and has an admissions nurse on in the evenings for additional coverage and support. Shifts are usually 8 or 12 hours. POSITION HOURS 36 hours weekly, Rotating Days and Nights, every other weekendEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSUREEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred. Experience: Nurses who are hired as new graduates with a temporary license are placed into this level.Licensure: Graduate Nurse status is designated for those individuals who hold temporary licensure to practice under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This status is maintained from date of hire until the issuance of a permanent license by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.Technical Certification: Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment.Professional Certification: Nurses are expected to pursue professional certification upon eligibility or within three years of entering the specialty practice.Schedule: Weekend/holiday coverage based on individual unit needs. Personnel are expected to cover for absences by rotating, working extra shifts, or use of on-call as needed.
