The Controller Position

The Controller shapes the financial health and long-term strategy of the company. Responsible for overseeing core accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, this leader provides critical insights that guide decision-making across all departments. By managing daily and monthly financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and driving accountability through performance analysis, the role maintains a strong foundation for sustainable growth.

From leading the budget process and identifying cost efficiencies, to evaluating new opportunities for expansion and ensuring smooth integration, this role directly influences the company’s ability to innovate and remain competitive. By leading and developing a high-performing team, partnering with leadership, and strengthening internal controls, the position ensures the company can pursue growth with confidence and efficiency.

With the right individual, this position could develop into a Chief Financial Officer position over time.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Controller Position

• 3-5 years of previous business Controller experience is required
• Prior experience working with multiple companies, divisions, or subsidiaries is preferred
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
• Hands-on accounting experience and strong organization skills
• An attention to detail and good communication skills throughout all levels of staff
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online & Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
