Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele oncology unit, requiring 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in a Med / Surg Tele oncology unit
  • Patient population includes individuals undergoing chemotherapy, diagnostic services, and symptom management for soft tissue malignancies
  • Continuous cardiac monitoring for patients, often related to chemotherapy
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4
  • Uses GE B450 telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, and bladder scanner
  • Both day (7 : 00–19 : 30) and night (19 : 00–7 : 30) 12-hour shifts available
  • Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Responsibilities include providing specialized care to oncology patients with a focus on infection prevention and fall reduction
  • Role involves management of comorbidities related to cancer and its treatment
  • Orientation to specific equipment such as GE telemetry, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds will be provided
  • Must adhere to institutional protocols for infection control and patient safety

  • Active OH or compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Current BCLS certification required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience interpreting dysrhythmias and ABGs
  • Experience with arterial lines, central and PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access
  • Able to start IVs and assist with chest tube insertion / removal
  • Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
