Sterile Processing Tech - Coordinator

SUMMARY :

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Software Management : Development and maintenance of Instrument Tracking software, troubleshooting issues, and managing work orders.
• Inventory Management : Handling ingress and egress of loaned and consigned instrumentation, managing sterilization parameters, and training caregivers on sterilization processes.
• Clinical Support : Providing support for clinical education on new instrumentation, developing policies for care and handling, and reporting vendor noncompliance.
• Collaboration : Working with Specialty Charge Nurses, Sterile Processing, Material Management team, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely and accurate ordering of instrumentation.
• Adheres to and supports team members in exhibiting TMC values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication.
• Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values policies and standards.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION : High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Completion of a Scrub Technician program preferred.

EXPERIENCE : Two (2) years of sterile processing experience, preferably in an acute care setting. Knowledge of all regulatory standards of CMS.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION : Must obtain one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire : Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
