[job_card.job_description]Min. 2 years experience as a Baker or combination Baker’s Apprentice and Baker Mis en place, scaling, other prep Mixing various doughs and batters Pre-shaping, shaping, proofing, baking naturally leavened breads and baguettes Laminating and shaping viennoiserie products Ability to monitor food quality and presentation, uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards- clean up! Team player, pitch in where needed Authorization to work in the United States Current California Food Handlers Certificate, or obtain within 30 days of hire Great sense of humor with a large dose of humility Curiosity to learn and understand new(er) things Fluency in basic math skills and baker’s percentage math Ability to stand working for long periods of time, up to 8 hrs Ability to lift / push / manipulate items weighing a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis Ability to act with composure and grace in fast-paced environment Ability to work at least 40 hours per week, weekend availability is mandatory and possibly some holidays Ability to display and follow ethical and professional standards set by The Baker Next Door Be well groomed and maintain proper hygiene Ability to communicate in basic English Act with integrity and honesty to promote the culture, values and mission of The Baker Next Door, i.e., create kick-ass products and treat customers and fellow team members with the highest degree of respect and consideration.
