Sr. Mechanical Designer

Cincinnati, OH

Full Time Direct Hire

Position Summary

Our Architectural / Engineering services client is seeking to hire a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for a variety of commercial building types. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design process from concept through construction documents
  • Develop HVAC and plumbing system layouts using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and energy analysis
  • Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and civil engineers
  • Review and mark up shop drawings and submittals
  • Mentor junior designers and engineers
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and sustainability goals
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for buildings
  • Proficiency in Revit , AutoCAD , and mechanical design software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP)
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and LEED principles
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • PE license preferred but not required
