Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst

SUMMARY: Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. (CED), one of the country's largest and fastest-growing wholesale electrical distribution companies, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Tax Analyst to join its corporate tax group.

REPORTS TO: Tax Manager MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in sales and use tax compliance.
• Experience in a multi-state environment required.
• Hands-on experience with Avalara tax engine or Vertex tax engine required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required
• Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings as required to meet reporting deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or CPA eligible
• Proficiency in Avalara Tax software
• Microsoft Access or SQL database programming experience is a plus.
• Database programing skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The job functions include a broad variety of tax matters including, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with multi-state sales tax compliance.
• Assist with sales tax audits.
• Prepare inter-company reconciliations.
• Prepare account reconciliations.
• Assist with maintenance of in-house tax systems.
• Assist with field responses including research of taxability related to various scenarios.
• Assist as needed with business license, unclaimed property, and personal property tax matters.
• Research and maintain a working knowledge of state sales & tax developments.
• Collaborate with other departments within the organization and provide assistance as needed.
